MANILA, Philippines – Around 38,000 jobs in the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector are expected to be available once the Norkis Cyberpark in Mandaue City, Cebu is completed in three to five years, Norkis Group of Companies chairman Dr. Norberto Quisumbing Jr. said on Friday.

The Norkis Cyberpark is a 2.8-hectare BPO office development adjacent to Mandaue’s biggest mall, the J Center Mall, along A.S. Fortuna Street.

The project is masterplanned for five office towers, the first of which is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by September 2014.

Danilo Ignacio, chairman and chief executive of development manager DEI Properties Inc., said the first tower, the Norkis One, is expected to generate around 3,000 jobs.

“The motivation there is job generation. Providing employment is very close to the heart of Dr. Quisumbing,” Ignacio said in a press briefing.
